Hazel enrolled at Hull College, aged 74, gaining a GCSE grade A in Italian, before completing the one year Advanced OCN Level 3. She went on to celebrate her 80th birthday and graduation, with a degree in Italian, within a month of each other!

Tutor, Tessa Norton, says: “Hazel travelled by bus from Hornsea almost every day, spent time in Italy on holidays and courses, despite serious health problems, and was dedicated to her studies throughout. Her launching pad was Hull College and Hazel gives every credit for her success to the excellent initial grounding which she received and enjoyed at the College!”
