The Hull College School of Art and Design is just a three minute walk from the bus and railway station at the rear of the exciting new St Stephens Square development.

In addition to having a vibrant student community, the centre has recently undergone a significant £900k remodelling programme making it a first choice environment for embracing a vast selection of creative disciplines.

The excellent onsite facilities comprise of multi media graphic design suites, purpose built specialist workshops dedicated to 3D/spatial design, jewellery design, and ceramics. Specialist art and design studios also include the industry standard photographic studio with associated digital editing suites, fine art studios, textile rooms with state of the art equipment including computerized dobby looms, and fashion and clothing studios/workshops.

Our experienced staff are dedicated to developing skills in areas ranging from Graphic Design, Lens Based Media, and Ceramics to Fine Art, Textiles and Spatial Design. This high standard of tuition and the support received from local employers has resulted in notably high achievement rates and excellent progression routes into industry.

The further development of Higher Education has also provided welcome opportunities for more local students to find a course that suits them on their doorstep. HE options include HNC Textiles, HNC/D Graphic Design, HNC Photography, HND 3D Design (Product or Craft), and Foundation Degrees in Creative Arts, Fashion or Costume Interpretation, Set Design for the Entertainment Industries, Textile Design and Lens Based Photo Media.

Dedicated to promoting creative talent, the School also positively encourages students to actively take part in art and design competitions. Recent successes include four Graphic Design students being presented with awards for their packaging designs at the prestigious Student Starpack Awards; Foundation Degree in Lens Based Photo Media students gaining both the first prize for the Reportage category and a commendation in the Digital Manipulation category at the Olmec Student Digital Photographer of the Year Awards, plus commendations for entries to the Bridal Buyer Awards (Fashion and Clothing), and Respect for Animals (Graphic Design).
