At Hull and Goole College we are committed to maintaining an environment where mutual respect, diversity and equality can flourish. You may well have heard the phrases ‘mutual respect’, ‘diversity’, and ‘equality’ before, but perhaps not understood how they can affect you, your family, your friends and the people you work and study with.
We are all different, let's face it, the world would be a pretty dull place if everyone were the same. Instead, we have a rich variety of people from different countries and cultures, different languages, styles and outlooks on life. Some people we meet may have a disability, may have a different sexual orientation or follow a different religion. Others may not eat meat, some may have a completely different lifestyle and everybody is different from our skin colour to the size of our feet, we are all different. BUT...
Underneath all the differences we have many things in common. We live on the same planet, we all want the best for our friends and families and we all hurt when people intimidate us either verbally or physically. Importantly, every one of us wants to do what we can to lead a fulfilled life.
Equality at Hull and Goole College is our commitment to welcome diverse peoples and customs and to ensure that everyone is treated fairly and given the same opportunities encouraging an atmosphere of mutual respect and friendship.
At Hull and Goole College we have put in place policies, statements and procedures to protect and further enhance the atmosphere of diversity.
